The holiday season is such a happy time of the year, especially when there’s a new baby in the family. This year that new baby is yours. I doubt if anyone told you how much a struggle the holidays are with a baby. Well there are, but here are some helpful hints that you may not have thought of to help ease this stressful season.

1. Portable sound machine

A portable sound machine can come in handy if your baby isn’t the greatest napper with a bunch of people chatting extra loudly or your aunt Debbie decides to have one too many cocktails and gets loud. (We all have one in our family, it’s okay!) Although you may choose not to bring along a sleeping device and that’s okay. Portable sound machines can be sat right next to where you may be holding baby.

2. Pacifier clip

Even if your baby doesn’t usually use a pacifier clip, during busy holiday parties, they come in handy. There may be several people visiting with your baby and not realize the pacifier is missing if it happens to fall. This way it doesn’t get dirty when falling on the floor and it’s seriously just one less thing you as a parent need to worry about.

3. Portable high chair

Whether baby is eating from a high chair yet or not, it’s a good idea to have somewhere to put baby when its mealtime. Offer toys or books for baby to play with while the grownups are eating. There’s nothing worse than a starving parent who has to eat last because you are holding the baby while everyone else eats.

These three tips may not be a lot, but they are some of the most important things you don’t want to forget when attending a holiday party.
